Established in 1977, Shimmering Stars Nursery has a rich history, originally known as Sutton Playgroup at Sutton Baptist Church. Relocating to a purpose-built Children’s Centre in September 2023, we are dedicated to providing a secure and joyful environment for children and their families, fostering a strong partnership between home and Nursery. Adhering to the EYFS framework, our experienced and qualified staff guide children through engaging learning opportunities, promoting play-based learning. Our children are divided into two rooms: a 2-3 year old room and a pre-school room. In the 2-3 room, they enjoy a variety of activities including messy play, large-scale toy exploration, and skill development. In the pre-school room, children are encouraged to be independent and pursue their own learning. Emphasising outdoor play, our children have free access to our outside area and regularly visit the local community, including a weekly trip to a nearby nursing home. These visits provide the children with the opportunity to interact with the residents, engaging in activities and conversations, benefiting both the children and the residents.
